A former colleague points him to a unique opportunity at an all-girls school in Wyoming. This school, for girls in grades seven through twelve, is different from the others in one respect: it admits transgender girls in addition to girls (born female) who are troubled. His new job not only gives him new experiences, but also a deeper appreciation for teaching and life.
