Growing up in poverty as the Nazis bomb England, Jack comforts himself by secretly wearing his mother’s fancy dresses. When she discovers his “hobby,” Martha decides to indulge her boy and let him continue to wear her things. With determination, some luck and aided by his natural girly looks, Jack becomes Jacqueline, a model for Dior. She decides to have the surgery which will make her the total woman she longs to be. First, though, she feels she should try having sex as a man one time, to see if she is truly making the right decision. Eventually, she settles down as the wife to a nobleman who introduces her to a life of opulence, her fear being that he will discover her “secret.”
