In Part Three of this epic tale, things have only become more complicated for Lady Sherrene, formerly the boy named Dedrick. While she has become even more beautiful, if such is possible, she has also become more embroiled in the growing conflict in her native land. She falls in with a travelling theater company all of whose ‘actresses’ are really men and quickly becomes their mentor and idol. Not only does Sherrene have to try to help the ‘girls’ achieve femininity, she also has to figure out how to use her growing powers as a witch to try to stave off what seems like the inevitability of war, all while dealing with many would-be suitors.
